Scientific Announcement

PIEES (Platform of Eastern European Studies), periodically organizes workshops, discussions,seminars, symposiums, and congress activities in line with its defined objectives. The scientific data obtained from these events is published and made available to the scientific community. The first congress took place in Kamianets-Podilskyi, the second in Kiev (CIEES 2018) in collaboration with Taras Shevchenko University, and the third in Skopje (CIEES 2019) in collaboration with the Turkish-Balkan University. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our congress on the theme of “The Role of the Church in Eastern European History” was heldonline. The fifth congress, in partnership with Izmir Democracy University, was conducted ina hybrid format. These periodic and ongoing congresses culminated in the sixth congress, CIEES-VI 2023, which was held in collaboration with Sinop University in Sinop. During the closing session of this congress, it was decided that the CIEES-VII Congress would be hosted by Caucasus University in Tbilisi, on June 19-20, 2024. Each of the PIEES congresses focuses on specific main themes within the context of Eastern European history, with the requirement that it remains limited to the Eastern European region. In this regard, the main theme of CIEES 2024 has been determined as “Culture and Civilizationin Eastern Europe”. The platform welcomes contributions from researchers who wish to participate in the event within the framework of the main theme. In the in-person congress, the presented papers should align with the main theme, and submissions outside of this theme will not be considered.
