In line with its established objectives, PIEES regularly organizes workshops, talks, seminars, symposiums, and congresses; publishes the scientific data obtained from these events; and makes them available to the academic world. The first congress was held in Kamianets, the second in Kyiv (CIEES 2018) in collaboration with Taras Shevchenko University, and the third in Skopje (CIEES 2019) in collaboration with the Turkish-Balkan University. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the congress themed “The Role of the Church in Eastern European History” was held online. The fifth congress was conducted in a hybrid format in cooperation with İzmir Democracy University. The sixth congress in this periodic and ongoing series, CIEES 2023, was held in collaboration with Sinop University on May 4–6 in Sinop.

The topics of each PIEES congress are determined within specific main themes, confined to Eastern Europe and approached from a historical perspective. Within this framework, the main theme of CIEES 2025, to be organized in cooperation with Fırat University in Elazığ in memory of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk, has been determined as “Social and Economic Life.”
