One of the activities of PIEES is to organize a scientific congress once a year. This congress will be carried out under the framework of the platform’s founding principles under the name of CIEES. Each of the congresses to be held will be in the form of main themes, provided that they are in historical perspective and limited to Eastern Europe. In this context, the main theme of the 2018 CIEES has detected as “Concepts, Sources and Methodology in Eastern European Studies”, to be a basis for further work. In the first congress, it is expected that the presentations will be within the framework of this main theme. Unfortunately, it will not be taken into consideration presentations which are outside this theme.
We expect all social scientists from the Eastern European researchers to participate in CIEES in 2018, with in the framework of the identified topics.

Archaeological artifacts, remnants belonging to the Ancient, Medieval, Modern Ages; all of the sources of archival material, chronicles, travel books, ruznames, memories, maps, contemporary collections, articles, newspapers, magazines belonging to each era will be discussed.
In resource researches and discussions, not only the concept of age but also geographical – state factors will be mentioned. In this context, Ancient states and tongues, Greek, Latin, Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Balkan and all resources belonging to European communities are also considered under the material resource concept.
It is aimed to identify resource languages in resource explorations. Especially in the Middle Age, Latin, Greek, Arabic and Persian, after Middle Ages, Turkish, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian and other tongues will be evaluated as the source language in Eastern European studies.
Texts are expected on which methods and resources can be addressed in Eastern European research on historiography. Apart from this, texts are expected to form an environment of theoretical paradigm on how different history writing schools around the world can be used in Eastern European studies.
